![]() ![]() But just thought I would ask as other users must surely have the same problem if using proxy group authentication. So it looks like I need different pac files for different user groups, which is not a problem. The main reason I am going with pointing to a pac file in browser settings is because as far as I can determine, there are no pac settings that allow you to set port 8080 for group A, 8081 for group B etc.Has anyone experienced problems with some websites, but not others using pac/wpad,.Are there any performance issues I should be concerned with in Firefox/Edge regarding using pac files and proxy script location in browser settings?.This website - seems to be a good one for getting example pac file scripts written up, so I will see if I can create one that says use proxy server if IP range is XYZ. ![]() We don't have internal webservers and I don't want to setup IIS just for that, so I am planning to use pac and Automatic proxy configuration URL to define the location of the pac script in Firefox. So is just a different way of deploying the proxy server details to the client machine and the coding for both files is identical. If I have understood my research correctly, Wpad is just a pac file renamed wpad and hosted on a website using IIS. We use mainly Firefox and Edge on our computers.
